Look what arrived in the postage today! My new shipment of yarn that I have been waiting on. Any and all projects that I started over the weekend have been put on hold cause I have to work with this now! I have been dreaming of a new blanket for this Spring, a light and airy blanket....ohhhh yes!
I put in a large order of all muted colors that I loved the most and of course, it's all cotton!! Actually, the smaller ones lying down are the Comfy Sport and the larger ones are the Brava Sport yarn.....and let me tell you........I am in cotton heaven!!!!
It's going to be a wonderful day, I can just feel it. I have already started working with my favorite pattern, what I like to call~ the old fashioned granny square but with a little twist...you'll see as time passes or maybe you can see already!!!
I do hope you all will have a wonderful day too, full of lovely surprises.
The sun is shinning at full beam, the air feels so good when the wind blows, my yard is full of bright-red...full bellied Robins, and one of my rose bushes is about to bloom, it can't get any better than this.....
xx Shari
The colours are beautiful on their own and look wonderful together! Looking forward to seeing the finished blanket in due course! xx
ReplyDeleteWow! Those colors say it all! It just screams spring! So beautiful! Love that stitch by the way... Do take pictures of your flowers when they bloom!!! Happy day you! Nicole xo

ReplyDeleteScrummy, scrummy colours Shari and I really can't wait to see the blanket as it grows. I too would have just had to make an instant start once that yarn arrived on my doormat. I think blankets are just the best things to make, I wouldn't like to count up how many are dotted all around our house !

oooooo ... love all those springtime soft colours Shari! The blanket squares look beautiful, and I can't wait to see how this is going to look all finished up! Your yard sounds perfect with the robins and the breeze ... sigh ... I have yet to see a robin in my yard, but I did see a heron flying over so that's just as good a herald of spring! Enjoy your day :) Wendy x
ReplyDeleteYou are soooo right - nothing brightens a day like a delivery of gorgeous yarn! It's like Christmas! :-) And my oh my what pretty yarns you have there, in all my favourite colours (btw, one of my Dream Jobs would be the person who makes up all the colour names. I mean, really, how much fun would it be to sit there all day pondering yarn and coming up with names like Seraphim and Marshmallow?). Already I am loving the blanket, and I've only seen a few squares...this will be such a delight to watch take shape, keep sharing! Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteLove those colors from KnitPicks! I'm also loving those grannies :D

Oh how I am so happy I came across your blog! I don't know how I did but that doesn't matter any more. I love the colors your using and what a welcome start to spring---if it ever decides to settle in that is. Was wondering----will you be sharing the pattern for your lovely squares? I'd love to be able to attempt one, even though I know it probably wouldn't look so nice. Well, thank you so much for the inspiration and the promise that spring is coming. Ann
